Playing Around
I've been working on that last habit of lifelong learning: playing around. I downloaded some pictures of my trip to Boston last summer. I added four of them to the Montana Libraries group. I changed the picture on my blog. I noticed that the RSS feeds are not all working....will have to figure that one out! This stuff is time consuming.....Hope someone out there enjoys my pictures of Boston. I looked at some of Lauren's pictures on Flickr. Very pretty place, Lauren. Now, I'll go play some more by being nosy and looking a other people's blogs.

A new semester
It's a new semester and a slightly different schedule. My classes have started reading about classical mythology. Tommorrow is ski day (which I am not going on), and I will have time to work on this week's lesson.

Lesson 3 has been interesting. I opened my bloglines account and added some (not ten) feeds to my list. I ran into some problems, though, with blogs from the Montana Challenge. I did not see a RSS feed on all blogs, and not everybody registered their blog with blogspot. I'll try again today and enter the blog URL. Somewhere, when I first started this, there was a long list of suggested feeds. I think at bloglines, but I could never find that spot again. I also want to post some pictures on my blog today. Later.

7 1/2 Habits of Lifelong Learners
I think the habits I have the most problem with are setting goals, having confidence in myself as a competent, effective learner, and teaching others. The last is curious, because I teach young people every day. But mostly, I teach what I already know. I look at this habit as teaching something that you just learned, or are just learning, to others so that both of you are discovering new things together. Actually, I do do this in my classes. I call it "experimenting." I have had great luck in writing goals down. It's amazing how things "come to pass" when you do that. Has anybody read "The Secret"? I've been reading it and it poses an interesting suggestion: that if you believe something will be, it will. I kind of couch this phenomenon as prayer. "Ask and you will receive." The last habit, having confidence in myself, is just something I have to work through myself, I guess.

First post....ever.
I've just started and haven't even looked at Lesson 1 yet, because I don't have headphones. I'll do it at home this weekend. Just have set up the blog and the email. Jane
